My name is Leslie Tait, and I am a local Orcadian.
As a local Orcadian, I have an intimate knowledge of the islands and its people.
I am a qualified Orkney Green Badge Guide, accredited by Scottish Tourist Guides Association. In 2020 I studied the Archaeology and Local Studies module through University of Highlands and Islands. At present I am studying World Archaeology, Politics and Perspectives, one of the first year degree modules at UHI.
I can take groups of up to four people as a driver guide in my BMW 330D, offering a range of tours. Or I can be a step on guide in your own vehicle, family car, minibus or coach.
As an enthusiastic landscape photographer I can take groups to interesting locations around Orkney, seeking optimum lighting conditions and spectacular scenery.
I arrange tours according to your interests. These include visits to the sites in the heart of Neolithic Orkney, Ring of Brodgar, Ness of Brodgar, Standing Stones of Stenness, Barnhouse village. Maeshowe chambered cairn is a stand alone tour run by Historic Environment Scotland from the visitor centre.
